  • Get the Asset Management in the Configuration Items
2 Posts | Último elemento para exponer noviembre 08, 2011
    • Hy Steve! First of all, thanks for the post!

Is it possible to get this view in the Configuration Items Root Folder and not in the Wunderbar?
I have tried to change the Parent Folder to the ConfigurationManagementServiceManager.Console.ConfigurationManagement.ConfigItem.Root.

When i import the MP i get an error: "The management pack you are attempting to import contains one or more missing image or assembly resources. Please create a management pack bundle and try importing again."

Do you have any ideas to solve this problem?

      Thanks and best regards,

      Chris
    • Sorry I never answered this, the notifications don't seem to have been e-mailing me.

Yes it can sit in the Configuration Items root, that's where I originally had it all until someone suggested a separate wunderbar.

I'll take a look when I get a minute and let you know the exact xml lines you'll need to change.
  • Thank You!

    • Thanks for the blogpost about importing the "goods" :)

Is it possible to delete your default suppliers, models etc.
When i try the delete button is greyed out.
Do i have to modify one of the mp´s before importing it?

btw, i used the wrong LiveID in my last question...

      Regards
      Peter
    • All the default suppliers, models etc are stored in the AssetManagementLists management pack.

I've included all of the unsealed xml MP's in the "Unsealed MPs" directory, feel free to modify these to your hearts content and remove and that you don't want.

Only thing that will need doing if you do is the MP's will need resealing using your own snk file and the references in the other MP's updating with your public key and again, those resealing.

Would you like another blog post on how to do that? ;)

      Cheers,
      SB
    • hi Steve.

can you please do that for this specific scenario?

      regards
      PEM
    • or can you provide a version with empty lists?
    • When I find a free minute I'm about ready to release this again, with some minor improvements, including empty lists as default. Bear with me, it should be up soon.

      Regards,
      Steve
  • Import Assets

    • Hi
Thanks Steve for at exelent MP!
Is it possible to import for example Network Infratructure Assets from a csv/excel sheet?

Or if we got the assets in an other SQL application?

      Regards
      Peter
    • Hi Peter,
It's perfectly possible to import using CSV.

If you check the documentation included in the zip file it lists all the properties used for the Network infrastructure class and the key values. Use these to build the XML used by the console CSV import feature and structure the CSV file appropriatly and you're away!

If you wanted to import directly from the other SQL application, you could use Opalis and setup a runbook using the SCSM Integration Pack to query your SQL DB, load the required data onto the Databus and then push it back into SCSM.

If I get time I'll pop a blog post up on how to import via CSV.

      Cheers,
      SB
