This is a download of an Excel spreadsheet which captures a list of the built-in security roles, the permission groups each role uses, and the individual permissions for each group for each role-based administration in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager. This contains details for the initial non-service pack release of System Center 2012 Configuration Manager and includes new permissions introduced with System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager.

 While this won’t tell you when to use a given permission from a specific permissions group while configuring custom security roles, it might help you to build custom security roles by making it easier to compare the different built-in configurations.
