Issue with Welcome Card Not Appearing Upon Reinstalling App in Different Channels on Microsoft Teams

When I install my app using the

onInstallationUpdateActivity

method in Microsoft Teams, I receive the welcome card. However, when I upload the app again in a second channel within the same Teams workspace, I am not getting the welcome card. Can anyone help me understand why this is happening and how to resolve it?

Thanks for raising your issue. Could you please confirm whether you are encountering the issue in New Teams client or Teams classic?

Did you uninstall the app from the same team and then reinstalled it in same team but different channel?

No, I am not uninstalling the app. I reinstalled the app to install it on a different channel. However, in this scenario, I am not receiving the welcome card as I initially did in the Teams channel. Any references addressing this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Vivek Meshram- We tried to repro this issue and observed the same behaviour. We are checking this internally whether it is by design behaviour or a bug. Once we get any update we will inform you in this thread. Thanks!

When you upload your app again in a second channel within the same Teams workspace using the onInstallationUpdateActivity method in Microsoft Teams, you will not receive the welcome card because the onInstallationUpdateActivity method is triggered only when the app is installed for the first time. Subsequent installations or updates within the same workspace will not trigger the onInstallationUpdateActivity method. This is by design.

This is by design. There doesn't seem to be any other way available.
