How do I estimate the price for SCOM Managed Instance

I have seen answers that suggest the cost will mostly be calculated from how big the SQL Server will be (https://scomathon.com/blog/coffee-break-the-road-to-scom-mi-migration-and-monitoring/) and I have also seen a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhTUydv20uY - from 17:59 that suggests a cost based on each endpoint monitored. Copilot says one VM will have at least one endpoint.

Can anyone clarify that please? Thank you.

    Hi,

For pricing have you tried our pricing calculator?

    Pricing Calculator | Microsoft Azure

Estimating the cost for Azure Monitor SCOM Managed Instance involves several factors. SCOM Managed Instance is offered as a Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) model, which means you only pay a monthly fee based on the number of monitored objects and the amount of data ingested.

For the most accurate estimate, it’s recommended to use the Azure pricing calculator and consider all the factors relevant to your specific setup.

    Hope this helps!

    Thank you for the response.

I cannot find anything in the Pricing Calculator link that relates to SCOM or Operations Manager.

The other link focuses on Azure SQL Managed Instance which is likely the most expensive part of SCOM managed instance. Is that going to give me a reasonable estimate and I can forget about counting endpoints?
