  • This script appears to capture only Search keywords, not managed metadata keyword

    • I used this script to retrieve the keywords for a SharePoint 2010 site. It worked exactly as described (I just copied and pasted and it worked), and the use of a secondary configuration file was a nice approach. One thing important to note: this script captures Search keywords, not Enterprise (managed metadata) Keywords.

    • This is the error I get when I try to run the script. I have tried researching it but am unable to find any solutions. The script produces the folder and the three files (all are empty). ANy help would be appreciated.

    • Do you see any error messages in the output? Also, would you send a screenshot of the command you type and the output. Please email searchengineers@microsoft.com

    • I tried and cannot get this to work for me.
I created the xml file and put it on the c:\ drive of the SP 2010 server.
I then try to run this ("ps .\export_SP2010_keywords_to_CSV.ps1 -c .\configuration.xml") in SP 2010 Management Shell and I always get a error. Either "Couldn't connect to remote machine" or "Cannot find a process with the name '.\export_SP2010_keywords_to_CSV.ps1' ".
I always open the Management Shell as Administrator.
I pinged the IP address of that server and it always connects
I checked to make sure the Remote Registry has started.
Any help in getting past these issues would be appreciated.

  • Synonyms Not Exported
    2 Posts | Last post January 15, 2016
    • For some reason the Synonyms are not being properly exported. The special term is being populated, but the Synonyms are all blank. Has anybody encountered this? Is there a fix for this?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
    • I had the same problem and fixed it like this.
      Line 135:
      ($keyword.Term + "," + (($keyword.Synonyms | select -ExpandProperty Term) -join ",")) >> $global:synonymsfile
