  • text editing of a shape appears in the middle
    2 Posts | Last post March 10, 2020
    • hi, thank you for your stencils Sandro.
I used this stencil pack with my Visio (Online plan 2). However when i want to edit the text on a shape, it appears in the middle. "Align bottom" does not work.
That being said, it i do a search, for example, "azure", the online results show your stencils. If i select, download and open, and choose a shape, i can then write text and it'll appear as it should, at the bottom.
    • I'm trying to fix that, the new shapes will be in the bottom. But there are too many :)
  • Stencils greyed out

    • Hi,
some stencils are greyed out, when i would like to use this in Visio 2016,
e.g. WAF policies. I can see the original, after i put in my document, i see only a grey picture.
      Thanks for your support,
    • Hey Stefan,
I was running into the same exact issue for some of of the images when using the stencil. I was able to solve it through the following convoluted steps:
Open a new blank visio doc
Save it as an older visio drawing (2003-2010)
After saving it as an older version, re-save it as the newest version .vsdx
Stencils should work in this "newest" version now
      Hope this helps.

  • SQL Server stencils are broken

    • All of the SQL Server related stencils within the MIS Databases and Analytics Stencils.vssx file are broken. Placing them onto the Visio canvas renders a grey outline of the shape and that is it. It appears the rest of the stencils in this file work just fine.
    • I upload a new zip with all the vssx. I tried and they are working fine. Please let me know if that fixed your issue

    • Hi
Thanks for the fantastic collection :)
If I may suggest some shapes for future development:
      - Under Development:
              SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio=
              SQL Server Operations Studio
      - Dynamics:
I am missing a section for the Microsoft Dynamics family, Cloud and on prem.
    • I'm not really a Dynamics expert but let me see what I can find
  • Icons text

    • Hi
Thank you for the up to date stencil pack. Much appreciated and it is good to have the up to date icons and a bit more colour.
When I add the icons onto a visio document, I am no longer able to add some text under an icon. Is this as expected? In previous icon sets, I could add a text underneath the icon to describe it
    • For me, the text I enter for the shape appears right in the middle of the shape. I'd greatly prefer it be below the shape or off to the side.
    • I will try to modify this behavior in the future
  • No Ninja Cat?

    • To begin with, this stencil pack is awesome. Thanks for all the hard work, but sometimes, we just need more Ninja Cat in our lives. This pack includes a number of levity inducing shapes to liven up boring IT presentations (T-Rex, Chicken, and Ninja to name a few), but Ninja Cat, sadly, has been omitted. Hopefully, this is something that can be added in future releases.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about, Raymond Chen has a wonderful description here:
    • Thanks... I will try to find a way to include A Ninja Cat
  • Excellent
