    • Hi, I am a software developer and about to start teaching my son to program, using Small Basic.
He loves Minecraft so I thought I would show him this game as inspiration but for some reason it's not running on my PC (Vista Business)
The .exe runs, and we see a white window with a face in the top left square, and we can press the keys but only see one small square change color/texture according to the key press.
I tried installing twice and think I got the folder structure correct, but perhaps that's where I went wrong.
Is it possible you could post a folder/directory listing of where everything should be starting from.
      Here is what I have
      c:\SBCraft\Minecraft Wallpapers
      c:\SBCraft\SBCraft (this contains the exe)
      c:\SBCraft\TEXTURE PACKS.txt
The exe does run, but it's not a playable program, with symptoms above.
I also tried another way, as above, but then re-copied the folders
      c:\SBCraft\Minecraft Wallpapers
      and got the same result
we are attempting to run version 0.4
Here is a screen capture of what we are seeing
    • Hi ecoms. Ardiezc Quazhulu doesn't use the forums/Small Basic anymore. I am pretty sure you have to use the UHJK keys to place blocks. That block you see is just a preview of the block. I can send you, by email, a Minecraft clone that I made, which is very much more advanced. If you could post your email here, I can send it to you. ASAP.
  • Very nice game!

  • Missing action for space

    • Andrew,
Your version 0.5 mentions in the README that space helps with the placement of the blocks. In the program you have NO action when the spacebar is used.
Is it an idea to place the blocks only on a fixed grid, so they do not overlap?
You have then to round the x and y to a multiple of I think 30.
      e.g. x = 30*Math.Round(x/30)
      Greetings, Jan (WhTurner)
    • Yes I JUST looked at the code (Saturday), I must have deleted the space action by accident. It is supposed to place a frame near your mouse for alignment purposes. It doesn't (oops). I am no longer developing this project, so feel free to edit and give yourself credit! :)

    • Andrew,
I tested it, 35 is better
    • Yes, I agree. I was just trying out different ways of playing the game. I totally realize that I rushed through this in order to get a version out, and it is very poor work. Thanks for commenting ;)
