  • Suggestion about report targeting
    1 Posts | Last post June 26, 2017
    • I find a lot of these reports useful. I do wish, however, that they weren't all targeted at the System.Entity class. That makes them "in context" for any SCOM object you highlight, and doesn't really help console performance. Tao Yang uses the AllManagementServersPool as the target for rules & tasks that apply to the SCOM infrastructure as a whole; perhaps that would be a good choice for these as well?
  • Does this MP Supports SCOM 2016 ?

    • We are planning upgrade to SCOM 2016. Are those reports compatible with latest SCOM?

    • Downloaded the new update today. Went to import the 2012 R2 management pack and it says 3.0.1.5. Is this correct?
    • yes sorry for the mix up!

    • I have a DMZ gateway server that shows in my Management Servers list but does not show in the "Health Check Report - Misc - Infrastructure" report. Not a big deal but I thought you guys might want to know.
  • Date picker is not working correctly
    2 Posts | Last post March 07, 2016
    • Oskar, Pete, again a very helpful collection of reports. Thank you.

What I've seen is that at least the date/time picker in the Noisiest Monitors report has some strange behavior:

If you select from Monday last week 00:00 to Sunday last week 00:00 it will take the Sunday from the week before last week 11pm to Saturday last week 11pm.

If you select from Monday last week 01:00 to Sunday last week 01:00 it will work correctly.

      Time zone: UTC+1
Regional Settings and System Locale: Switzerland

Are you able to reproduce that? Maybe someone from the community in another time zone with other regional settings?

      Cheers,
      Patrick
    • Same here. The report (Alert - Total Daily) substracts the Time Zone hours from the Start en End Date parameters.

      Report parameters:
      Time Zone: +1h
      Start Date: 01-02-2016 12:00 AM
      End Date: 01-03-2016 12:00 AM

      Visible result in report:
      Start Date: 31-01-2016 11:00 PM
      End Date: 29-02-2016 11:00 PM

I manually corrected this by adjusting the initial Start en End Date. (+1 hour)

    • Hi!

      And another interesting one:
When I schedule the same report and send me the PDF, XLS, ... and the URL I get an file without data. However, the link in the mail contains the data.

      Cheers,
      Patrick
  • No Report Folder, Reports Show under Tasks in Monitoring View
    3 Posts | Last post December 10, 2015
    • I'm not sure what I did wrong, but after configuring and testing my data source, I imported the MP and found that the reports don't show under the Reporting tab; I don't even have a new report folder on my Reporting Server. Reports are showing up under Tasks in the Monitoring view. Was this by design or did I do something incorrectly?

I should also note that some reports will not open when you click on them.
    • Nevermind. The folder appeared overnight and everything seems to be ok. I wasn't being patient. :)
    • Your comment saved a panic from me :-)
Thank you. I only saw 1 Report in the Reporting pane.

System Center Operations Manager Health Check reports -> Health Check Report - OMS Managed Agents overview

When I click the report and run it, I got the following error:

Cannot initalize report. The report sever cannot process the report or shared dataset. The shared data source 'OperationalDataBaseMain' for the report server or SharePoint site is not valid. Browse to the server or site and select a shared data source. (rsInvalidDataSourceReference)

I'm hoping that like you, this just needs some time to correct itself and show the other reports (which are viewable in the Monitoring -> Tasks Status -> Tasks pane)
  • Some Reports fail with error report processing
    3 Posts | Last post November 24, 2015
    • When I run some of the reports I get this error back (some work fine). An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted). Query execution failed for dataset 'NoisiestMonitors'
I cannot seem to find any errors in the event log on the SQL server. Any suggestions
    • I have a similar issue. The Known Issues in the guide states the following:

Error: "An error occurred during client rendering. An error has occurred during report processing. Cannot create a connection to data source 'OperationalDataBaseMain". For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors."

Resolution: This error has been reported by several users. The procedure for resolving this issue:

Instead of ”Windows Integrated Security” select “Credentials stored securely in the report server and use windows creds when connecting to the data source” Fill in the Service account used for SQL/SCOM for the data warehouse. This fix has been reported by several users

      ###

But, what if you cannot use the service account that's running the SQL service on the DataWarehouse? What permissions are required in order to run the reports? I can request elevation, but I cannot use the SQL Service account.
    • UPDATE - I was able to use my SCOM DataWriter account credentials. Follow the KNOWN ISSUES section of the guide and try your DataWriter account.
