The purpose of the Sample Tuning Reports management pack is to provide customers information about the health of their System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 management group.
The management pack includes several performance collection rules that are considered to provide key information about the overall performance of the core Operations Manager 2007 R2 infrastructure servers, including the Root Management Server, Management Server,
Gateway Server, and the computer(s) hosting the operational and data warehouse databases.
The performance collection rules contained in this management pack, along with other core performance collection rules defined in the System Center Core Monitoring and
Data Warehouse Internal Library management packs, provide data for the Core Servers Performance Report. This report is contained in the Sample Tuning Reports Management Pack folder in the Reporting space.
The management pack also includes other reports, which can be used for general tuning purposes. Management pack tuning is necessary to maintain optimal performance in every Operations Manager 2007 implementation. Tuning also increases usability
of Operations Manager 2007 by reducing false alerts, flapping monitor states and unnecessary monitoring data from being inserted into the databases and subsequently displayed in the Operations Console and sent through notification channels.
