  • Script has already been run
    2 Posts | Last post June 22, 2017
    • I still can't get this to work. Has anyone found a workaround for the "Script has already been run" error?

I originally ran an older version of the script and it worked great. When I tried to run the latest version version of the script I received the error "Script has already been run or a collection name already exist. Delete All Operational collection before re-executing the script" error. I removed all the collections and the Operational folder but I'm still getting this error.

I really found these collections useful but now I don't have the old ones and get the new script to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

    • OK, I finally figured out what was happening. We're using Role-Based Administration in our environment. My normal AD account only has Workstation level permissions. I have a special Admin account I use whenever I need to make global changes. Sometimes I forget that, which was the case here. The "Script has already been run..." error message threw me off and sent me in the wrong direction.

For anyone else that's still getting this error, make sure that you're running the PowerShell script with an account that has full permissions in ConfigMgr. :-)

Thanks for a great script Benoit!
  • Operational Collection Already Exists Error
    1 Posts | Last post June 12, 2017
    • I'm getting the "Script has already been run or a collection name already exist. Delete All Operational collection before re-executing the script !" error even though I went through and deleted all the old collections and the Operational folder. What do I need to do to run the latest version of the script?

      Thanks!

  • Move To Github?

    • Would it make sense to move this to something like Github so that changes can be made by the community when bugs/issues are found?
  • macOS query needs to be adjusted
    1 Posts | Last post May 15, 2017
    • 'Others | MAC OSX Devices' has a bad query. Also name is now macOS.

Query is currently 'Apple Mac OS X%'

      Value shows 'Mac OS X 10.*.*' or 'OS X 10.*.* (*)'

      Thank you for your work!

    • Is there a version of this script that will create queries rather than collections?
  • Not Latest (1702) Incorrect Criteria

    • It looks like your collection to find clients not running the latest version needs an adjustment.

In my case, I had to adjust the criteria to not include versions that were 5.00.8498.1008 instead of the 5.00.8498.1007 that was in your script.

    • Script has already been run or a collection name already exist. Delete All Operational collection before re-executing the script !
  • tried to run your script

    • I tried to run your script however I get an error

Script has already been run or a collection name already exist. Delete All Operational collection before re-executing the script ! probably so.

I can just copy the query within the script itself and manually build the collections I need, correct?

  • Query Physical machines
    1 Posts | Last post April 01, 2017
    • I use the following query to get Physical machines

      "select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System inner join SMS_G_System_SYSTEM_ENCLOSURE on SMS_G_System_SYSTEM_ENCLOSURE.ResourceID = SMS_R_System.ResourceId where SMS_G_System_SYSTEM_ENCLOSURE.ChassisTypes in ('17','23')"
  • Script Hangs on Windows 10 Support State Collections
    1 Posts | Last post March 29, 2017
    • The script hangs and won't create the three Windows 10 Support State collections. I believe this is due to this site being SCCM 2012 R2 SP1. Since this is lab and not important I commented out those lines and the script is able to run and complete.
