The goal of this tool is to offer to the users the capability to see their connection informations, in order (for example) to send these informations to the SharePoint administrator in case of problems.

The displayed informations are the following :

• Name of the SharePoint Server used by the user,
• User Login ("Claims" is displayed if relevant),
• User IP address,
• Browser used.

Deployment

This (simple !) project was build with Visual Studio 2012 and the generated WSP file should be deployed (globally) on a SharePoint 2013 farm.

The steps to deploy the solution are the following :

• Add-SPSolution -LiteralPath "WSP_Path\SPAsipe.ConnectionInformations.wsp",
• Install-SPSolution -Identity SPAsipe.ConnectionInformations.wsp -GACDeployment.

How to use it

Once the WSP deployed, a file named "ConnectionInfos.aspx" is copied into the "15 hive", in the  "layouts/Diags" directory.

 

The user has just to call the page "_layouts/15/diags/connectioninfos.aspx" to see his informations :
