The SharePoint Build to Build Update Playbook is a guideline for installing SharePoint CUs/PUs on mid size or large farms. It was created by Microsoft Premier Field Engineers (PFEs) and successfully used by Microsoft Premier customers. The Excel Playbook with its multiple tasks helps to plan and structurize Update Installations to prevent common problems. The update concept used in the playbook is reducing the overall update time for farms that contain many Content Databases.
