  • Multiple errors when opening on windows 10
    1 Posts | Last post May 27, 2017
    • I've recently downloaded this tool and have been trying to open it on my windows 10 machine.
Although it does eventually open and displays content there are a lot of errors that are displayed while opening it.
I've tried opening "As Administrator" with the same errors.
  • Unable to loading

    • Hi Rob,
When trying to launch the SCStore I get the message stating that manifest could not be downloaded - Buffer cannot be null Parameter name: buffer. I tried in Open Internet only in my home.
    • Would happen when I am on holiday!
It seems Microsoft have changed how SharePoint for my website works, and has caused this tool to fail to download the manifest.
On the 16th\17th August I'll see what can be done to fix this.
    • Back up and running again.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention tr.Dhilipkumar I really appreciate that.
It turned out to be SharePoint permissions got hosed, I had to literally delete a folder and recreate it to get the permissions to work again. Hmm.
      Anyways, enjoy the tool!

  • Problem downloading manifest

    • Hi,
When trying to launch the SCStore I get the message stating that manifest could not be downloaded - Buffer cannot be null Parameter name: buffer. Any ideas on what could be causing the problem?
    • I just verified the tool is okay by downloading it and running here. Worked a treat.
Is it possible that you are behind a Proxy? I have a Proxy tab that you can populate but proxy-usage isn't something I've tested much other than wiring up all the code (then correcting the wiring a version later).
Let me know how you get on and thanks for trying out the tool!
    • Robert,
Yes I am behind a proxy and have populated the relevant information, but when I try and run it again it still fails, also when I click on the home tab it kicks up a unhandled exception error stating that value cannot be null, parameter name: s. my laptop is running Windows 10 would that be a problem?
    • The OS won't be the problem.
Will look into better error handling for failure when behind a firewall.
I'd like to make the proxy support better, can you email me rob @ smsmarshall dot com?
    • Rob, no worries I will send you an email detailing the issues and screenshot of the error, my email address is
    • Rob, as you suspected SCStore works as expected when I am at home and not connected to the Internet via the proxy server.
    • After further investigation, it seems that the company firewall has blocked access to your site (which I assume is where the application downloads the manifest file from?), anyway thank you for your help and it just means that I will have to use the tool on non company devices:-)
