  • c# (or otherwise) source for exes?

    • Hi Johan,
Is source available for TSLaunch.exe, UPGBackground.exe and UPGBackgroundService.exe? Would like to be able to vet it a little esp since it has a service where I work - part of due diligence. Great work this is awesome and fills 2 huge gaps (scheduling and letting the user know what's happening)!

    • First of all, thank you for providing this tool to the community. I was excited about it after seeing a sneak preview at MMS.
I've been running it on a test box for a while and it has been great so far. Today, I RDP'ed in to that test box and it spawned another instance - so now I have two "slideshows" running on top of each other.
Another thing I was contemplating is about the Win+L curtain. If you dismiss the curtain but then do not log in and let it time out back to the curtain the watermark begins displaying. I wonder if there is any way to emulate that curtain dismissal + timeout automatically right after a Win+L event to trigger this watermark?

    • Hello,
Thanks for the creating the application.
I have an issue with the image size, the original image size is 1920 x 1200. I've set the size to 90 when installing but it is not displaying as I would expect. It still sizing the image down .
      I'm I able to set a full-size image?
      Kind regards

    • Thanks for a great tool Johan!
Would be nice with a possibility to add text dynamically via a config-file or something. Text like Hostname, IP-address and similar.
    • At the moment it's images only... I'll make a note of the "request".
    • Really great tool! Display the Hostname would be very nice!
  • RDP connection does not stop the LSWatermark.exe process

    • First of all, thank you very much. It is very helpful.
We are testing it and noticed that using a Remote Desktop Connection doesn't stop the LSWatermark.exe process, and any new RDP connection creates a new LSWatermark.exe process.
It is like is not getting the Event created after the RDP loging connection...
      Hopefully I explained myself.
  • RemoteImage as a URL?

    • This is going to be big for me, but with our network shares all locked down in AD, is there a way we can pull from a URL instead?
    • Sounds like something to look into; next revision maybe... No promises.
  • Language folders and a feature request
    5 Posts | Last post July 05, 2019
    • Hi Johan,
Just the tool we have been looking for. We recently had a request for presenting info on the lockscreen and had been testing a bit with Windows 10 slideshow feature, however the lack of controlling the order and the "feature" to merge several picture together as one, didn't make it the most optimal solution. And then you provided us with LS Watermark:-), so thank you so much.
I did some testing with the images folder, with and without language folders.
I'm running a english windows, with danish regional settings. I added some files directly in the Images folder, and then created a da-dk and a fi-fi subfolder in the images folder(so no en-gb folder. Locking my device, it will show the content of the images folder, and then continue to show the content of da-dk, then going back to imaages folder for a few files and then cycle thorugh the fi-fi folder. If I do have a en-gb folder also, it will only show the content of that language folder. Is this by design or do I might do something not expected.
Secondly a feature request. Would it possible for the application to support a config file(containing the settings for duration, Top, Left Size etc ) with each image folder, instead of leaving the settings in the registry.
The content in the Images folders can differ a bit. You might want to show some content that contains more text for eg. devices running Danish Windows OS and just show plain pictures on German devices. So the Danish devices might require a longer duration (or the size might be bigger etc.) for that particular slideshow.
      Kind Regards,
    • Is the "System UI Language" really danish, in that case it should only show/rotate the pictures in the da-DK folder.... I suspect that you have only set regional settings to Denmark, which is not enough, but also stumbled over what might be a bug..
So (if I'm right); the application will not find a folder that corresponds to what is really the System UI language, it will then fallback to "Images", and here we have the bug - it will load the images recursively, e.g. include the files in the sub folders.
Please check your system language: Control panel (Region), third tab (Administrative), System Local?
    • Hi again,
I think we agree on the same bug. I'm running a English Windows (System UI language = en-gb) with regional setting set to da-dk, so it was when not having a a en-gb folder, that I got the shuffling through all the folders. I didn't expect to get the content in da-dk, when only the regional setting is set to Danish.
      Kind Regards,
    • Note that the bug has been taken care of; please download yesterdays release and thank you very much for reporting the issue :)
    • Thanks for fixing the bug.
Any thoughts on my suggestion making it possible to add the support for a config file in a image folder, so every campaign be handle individually in a easy way.
We'll be using a CI to download different content to the Images folder based on different criteria (Which company/Department/Location/user the pc belongs to), and the source content will be handled by another department with no access to SCCM/Group policy, So it will be great if they could test the image files and make a config file, that would fit for that specific campaign, so when the image files are distributed, so will the config file.
      Kind Regards,
  • Silent install?

    • Cool tool, but how do i do a silent install?
tried with /quiet and /q without success
and +1 on the question about placement.
Feature request: read from a file share, so instead of copying image(s) to the client, the client would read from a shared source.
    • There's a silent example (/qn) in the manual.
      Both request are now implemented.

    • Is it possible to place the picture on the right side on the lockscreen?
    • Not in this first release; it's the kind of features I expect will be requested. It's been noted...
