    • Me too. I know this particular thread concerns adding dropbox (Gdrive, whatever) to Windos 8.1 but there are similar scripts out there for W7. In fact I successfully used one and it had been working fine for months on a couple of machines I use (one W8.1, the other a W7) until today when in trying to set it up on a third machine (W7) it seems to have mucked it up for at least one of those that had been working (I haven't checked the other yet).

The log out of office and then log back in, start and restart ofice etc, none of that has worked for me. The service is there to be added but I get the above message. Really frustrating, and, as of today, I can find nothing on the internet to help fix this, and silence from the companies.

    • Hi,
I try this script in windows 8.1 at Office 13 x64. When I import script, I get this message (https://www.dropbox.com/s/5dzz8h371fmj5oh/Screenshot%202014-04-09%2013.23.20.png). I don´t know what I want to do? Thank you very much for advice.
    • Hi!

The problem is that running scripts has been disabled at your computer.
To bypass this, open a PowerShell as administrator and type the following, then press enter:

      set-executionpolicy -bypass

This will enbale all scripts to run on your computer, if you prefer a stricter security policy, see the following link for more information:

    • Hi
I can't even open this file type. What am I doing wrong ?
Does this really have to be in this compressed file type ? I hate to have to download another app. Why not zip instead.
      http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/what-is-rar-file
Do you have any install instruction that you can post here ?

A lot of people would use this if they knew about it and it was easy to install.

      Please help
    • Hi!

Sorry for posting as *.rar, the updated script is in zip, and so will this one be as soon as I updated the script it self. 7-zip can extract all filetypes as well.

      Best regards
      Andreas Molin

    • Hi!

Just to mke sure, did you extract the file to "C:\script\Create-Shortcuts.ps1"?
As the message says, the file could not be found.
    • Sorry, not run on same problem. Please, help.

    • The script ran okay, infact when I ran it again it said the reg keys were already there, however Gdrive does not appear in Word. I have moved the location of the Gdrive and correctly entered it manually, but this has not worked.
    • Sorry for a very late response!
It seems Technet has dropped my email, so I haven't been getting any updates about posts on my threds!

Are you running the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version of Office?
It seems to be some trouble on x64. I will look in to this as soon as possible!
  • How do i run this as administrator?

    • Right click only gives me the 'run as powershell' option, which produces a blue window which immediately closes.

You need to start "Powershell" as administrator, not the script.
Once powershell is running as administrator, import the module and run the required command shown under the section called "Script"

    • I tried this solution and all other registry solutions out there and it doesn't seem to work with Office 64 bit. Any advice you can give?

My best guess is that there are other keys that needs to be modified as well if you are running the x64 version Office. I will look in to this as soon as I find the time!
