    • Thanks a lot :)
    • Offline installation is very dangerous, errors in it threaten with a full reinstallation of Windows and SharpePoint server, so I highly recommend it ... it is better to install SharpePoint online and turn off the Internet than to do it Offline.

    • Hi,
      Are you planning to upgrade it to include Windows Server 2012 R2 support? and the WCF 5.6 new req also?

      Thanks for the script!!!
    • Marcelo - yes I am working on an updated version to include support for Windows Server 2012 R2 and other items. I hope to release it soon.

      Cheers,

    • Hi Craig,
      Do you have updated script ready for Windows 2012 R2. I am trying to install SharePoint server 2013 on Windows 2012 R2. I install all prerequisite manually but when I try installing SharePoint it says App Fabric is not configured correctly and installation does not move further. It is asking me to use Prerequisite installer.exe. If I run that it fails at configuring IIS role, while role has been added. Not sure what is wrong. Can you help.

    • Can you provide some links for the upgrade of Windows Server 2012 R2 support?
    • CJ rawson has an update for installing on Win 2012R2. You might want to check it out & see if it works!
      http://blogs.technet.com/b/cjrawson/archive/2014/04/06/offline_2d00_sharepoint2013sp1_2d00_prerequisites_2d00_server2012r2.aspx
    • For those who wanted to run it on WIndows 2012 R2 with SharePoint 2013 SP1,

      Download One extra prerequisite and keep it under PrerequisitesInstaller folder along with other files.

      Microsoft WCF Data Services 5.6 (rename this download to WcfDataServices56.exe):
      http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/C/A/1CAA41C7-88B9-42D6-9E11-3C655656DAB1/WcfDataServices.exe

      Edit Craig's wonderful script adding one line as seen below.

      ==
      /WCFDataServices56:`"$SharePoint2013Path\PrerequisiteInstallerFiles\WcfDataServices56.exe
      ==

      Installer window will run first then again after a reboot and completes the installation.

      It worked for me.

      Thanks a lot Craig

    • You wont have this problem installing "SharePoint 2013 WITH SP1" on "Windows Server 2012 R2".

      You will get this problem because "SharePoint 2013" (NOTE the omission of "with SP1") is NOT SUPPORTED on "Windows Server 2012 R2". (NOTE the "R2")

      "SharePoint 2013" (NOTE the omission of "with SP1") IS supported on "Windows Server 2012". (NOTE the omission of "R2").

      You would only want to try this caper to port an evaluation version of SP 2013 onto WS 2012 R2. Do not use this hack for production environments. Check your versions instead.

    • I know the script to download and install prerequisites does not deal with file conflicts nor the install of WCF Data Services 5.6.

      I made these changes using a hashtable (quick and dirty) if you need the updated version.

  • Win 2012 R2?
    2 Posts | Last post June 14, 2015
    • I am trying this with Win 2012r2 and while all the scripts seem to work, I am in an endless install loop with the Preparation Tool running once (installing roles, supposedly, then the offline updates that were downloaded, but on reboot, it's right back in the Preparation Tool getting stuck on "Configuring Application Server Role..." This is insanity (from MS) but thanks for trying to fix the situation. Any help would be appreciated, as I am about ready to forget SharePoint Server altogether, and look for another solution. Thx!
    • Jigs, have you checked Craig's wiki entry http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/14582.sharepoint-2013-install-prerequisites-offline-or-manually-on-windows-server-2012-a-comprehensive-guide.aspx which seems to address this exact problem.
  • Thank you sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar.
