  • Multiple SKU Types
    4 Posts | Last post September 06, 2019
    • Hey,
thank you for the MP. It works great. I have a question concerning the Monitor Available License Count Monitor. I have to define a SKUType. Then only this SKU is queried for available licenses. Is there a possibility to query for more then one SKU?

      Best Regards,
      US
    • Once you have the SKUType you could enable the Monitor on another WatcherNode and target whichever SKU you want, the code is generic enough it should work :) We're looking to address this in V2, provide some flexibility with Monitors for the other Office 365 SKU Types.
    • Thanks for this Management Pack and assistance provided.

I'm also facing issue with multiple SKU Type configuration. If I have 10 license packages (or SKU Types), does that mean I require 10 watcher nodes to create overrides, and to enable license count monitoring for all SKU Types ? OR a different approach is available ?
    • Thank you for this management pack. I do have the same question about multiple SKU's on one watcher node. Is there any time frame on when this will be possible?
  • How it will work in SSO integrated environment and which user we need for connecting it to sharepoint online cloud instance? Please suggest.

  • Does this MP support monitoring of multiple independent tenants from a single SCOM management group?

    • We have a requirement of monitoring multiple, independent Office 365/on-premise organizations. Can this MP be used for that purpose, for example if we leverage different watcher nodes and run-as accounts in the different 365/on-prem pairs?

    • Hi Brian
      Thanks for your Management Pack.
It works fine, but I have a problem now, we wanna disable TLS1.0 / TLS1.1 because of https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/securitycompliance/technical-reference-details-about-encryption. But the connection to O365 is with this protocol. Is there a way to change this to a higher Version of the protocol? Or if I disable TLS1.0 and TLS 1.1, would your MP use TLS1.2?
      Thank you and Best Regards

    • Hi Brian,

First, thanks for the work : that's definitely how the official O365 MP should look like!

Now a quick question : is there a reason why you used Windows.Computer as a base class for the watcher node?
This results in having a duplicate of all the monitors targeted at that class in addition to the ones which actually are in the O365 MP, hence the possibility to have instances of the watcher in a critical state while everything is actually fine on O365 side... In my opinion, using a LocalApplication base class would have been a better option here :)

  • Watcher Nodes

    • Typically, what servers are used to run the Watch Nodes? Do you recommend dedicated servers or can it co-exist with another app?
    • You can use any Agent Managed computer, once the pre-reqs are installed it will be discovered and added to the O365 Watcher Node class and then you can enable the monitors. You can use machines that host multiple roles with no problem, I use a ConfigMgr Site Server/MDT Server in my lab as a Watcher Node.
  • How to specify which computer to use as watcher nodes

    • The doc doesn't seem to include how to configure the watcher nodes. Do you do it via a resource pool, config file, etc?
    • Once the three pre-reqs are installed on any agent managed computer the discovery will populate the watcher node class. You can override the workflows for one or all or separate watcher nodes then distribute your run as accounts accordingly.
