Configure RemoteApp and Desktop Connection on Windows 7 Clients

This script uses a RemoteApp and Desktop Connections bootstrap file(a .wcx file) to set up a connection in Windows 7 workstation. No user interaction is required. It sets up a connection only for the current user. Always run the script in the user's session.

    • The script works perfectly for creating connections the first time it is run. What needs to happen to get the script to update a connection when there is a change/addition to the feed list?

      Hello,

i got the webfeed deployment on Windows 7 Clients already working.
But i don't know how to deploy multiple web feeds.
      Can anyone help me?

      Example:
      Site1 - RDSH Farm 1 - webfeed1
      Site2 - RDSH Farm 2 - webfeed2
      Site3 - RDSH Farm 3 - webfeed3

Do i Need 3 GPO's with 3 powershell scripts an 3 feed.wcx files or can i accomplish this requirement with 1 GPO, 1 powershell script and 1 feed.wcx?

If i can do this with one feed.wcx file, how should it look like?

      Thank you and best regards.

  • NEW RDS Server

    • I just built a new RDS server that is replacing our old server, and need to remove the connection to the old server (The server names are not going to be the same due to a new naming standard). I deployed this script via GP to all of our machines and cannot find any way to remove the connection via a script. Any help would be great
  • Marshalling problem

    • On my system (Win8 enterprise) the Get-Item call interprets $connectionKey as "$(Get-Location)$connectionKey)". This results in an error that no such entity exists (which is true).
    • The declaration of $connectionKey as an empty string causes the Get-Item call to fail due to poor marshalling (Get-Item doesn't seem to be able to figure out what it is and interprets the object as "$(Get-Location)$connectionKey)". This appears to be related to syntax as $connectionkey gets set to "HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Workspaces\Feeds\{Item-Guid-Here}" which is invalid syntax for get-item
Declaring $connectionKey as type [Micorosft.Win32.RegistryKey] set equal to $null resolves this.
      I identified this by executing $(get-item 'HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Workspaces\Feeds\*').getType()

    • Hoping somebody may be able to help out.

I've configured a GPO to run this script with the wcx file as the parameters and it appears to do nothing at all. If I try to run it manually i keep getting "Connection setup failed". It may well be something obvious but I'm afraid I'm not very clued up when it comes to scripting.
    • Correction manually gives "The connection in RemoteApp and Desktop Connections already exists"... but it doesn't
