Install Software on a Remote Computer

  • Is there a PowerShell equivalent of this?

    • I love batch scripting because its super easy for me to quickly put something together.  VBScript allows me to do more than batch so I rely on that for complex situations.  However PowerShell has both of them beat.  Many times what takes several lines of code in either language can be accomplished in a PowerShell oneliner.
      
      So I have to ask: Is there a PowerShell version of this script?  How much more flexibility does using PowerShell for remote installations give us over VBScript?

    • The next lines I don't understand, I need to know where I need to put the user, password, domain, remote computer, etc, anyones understand:
      
      Set objConnection = objwbemLocator.ConnectServer _
          ("WebServer", "root\cimv2", "fabrikam\administrator", _
               "password", , "kerberos:WebServer")

      (<target computer name>, "root\cimv2", <administrative username>, <administrative password>, , "kerberos:" 
    • the last part should be 
      
      "kerberos:"
