  • The Script Failed
    2 Posts | Last post October 31, 2016
    • Hi Guys,
Thanks for the instructions, I too didn't know what to do with that script there.
However following your instructions to the T I received an error saying it failed at:

      Line 17
Character 17 which is the start of the script saying 'obj2.Delete_'

So it fails to affect change for me;(

    • Might be too late but here is how I ran the script after getting the same error:
Open a administrator cmd promt. (Accessories-right-click on command promt select run as administrator.
Copy the script and save it as event10.vbs in C:\
Then in the command windows type wscript.exe c:\wscript.exe c:\event10.vbs
      script should run and complete.
      Example view: C:\Windows\system32>wscript.exe c:\event10.vbs

      Hope this helps
  • how do I run a script?

    • to fix an EventID 10 error 0x80041003 you suggest running a script on https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/Event-ID-10-is-logged-in-c5984711 but don't include instruction on how to run the script for ppl that lack this knowledge. Please supply that information. Thank you.
    • open a text editor like notepad or wordpad, copy and paste the contents of the code into the editor, and save the file, be sure the file is saved as .vbs instead of .txt or rtf. If it does accidentally get saved as a .txt or .rtf, just simply rename the file after you save it to your c:\ drive. for instance save file as kb2545227_fix.vbs the .vbs tells the computer that it's an executable script file. Once saved, just double-click on the file, it will come up with a few popup boxes with the option to delete things, just hit the ok button on those items, when finished restart your computer.
