    • Hi shayhandes,

    • Hi

you have errors what I find:

if %allow% EQU Yes goto permission
but there is no permission label

    • Hi KONIKPK,

The permission label carries to at line [170](https://github.com/ManuelGil/Script-Reset-Windows-Update-Tool/blob/master/ResetWUEng.cmd#L170).

  • Have you seen new DISM commands in Version 1803

    • Congrats on hitting 500K downloads.

I see that you recently updated it. (Haven't looked closely to see what you've done, yet)

Have you seen the new DISM commands added to Version 1803

      https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/whats-new/whats-new-windows-10-version-1803

      DISM /Online /Initiate-OSUninstall
          – Initiates a OS uninstall to take the computer back to the previous installation of windows.
      DISM /Online /Remove-OSUninstall
          – Removes the OS uninstall capability from the computer.
      DISM /Online /Get-OSUninstallWindow
          – Displays the number of days after upgrade during which uninstall can be performed.
      DISM /Online /Set-OSUninstallWindow
          – Sets the number of days after upgrade during which uninstall can be performed.

It would be handy if you added at least the OS uninstall and the reset date limit commands to your tool.

PS: could you make the download button a little bigger, it got lost with the big new button you added to the documentation.
    • Hi Rohn007,

I'm sorry to be late. I am very interested in knowing more about these new DISM commands and will work to integrate with a minimum of these commands in this tool.

In case of update this tool, will publish it in my official website http://wureset.com

PS: I reduced the new button by 20% ;)

  • Thank you for this.

    • Manuel, thanks so much for this.
I had several domain PCs that couldn't update W10 Pro to version 1803.
I'd tried several other manual methods and a couple of batch files, but your script is the first one to fix the issue.
      Very.
           Much.
                Appreciated.
    • Hi ericpeacock,

Thanks Manual F. Gil for posting this script, I hope just running #2 works.
#2=SoftwareDistribution folder (previously ~9.3GB) is backed up to
SoftwareDistribution.bak and the new SoftwareDistribution folder is only ~180MB!
    • Hi LimoHat,

I hope this tool has been useful for you and your issue has been solved.

      Thanks!

    • I ran the Reset Windows update and it indicated that I have to run the same as Administrator but there is no way for me to do so in the updat
    • Hi BXBRACE,

In this link you can find several ways to run as administrator:
      https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3436-run-administrator-windows-10-a.html

  • Still have pending updates
    2 Posts | Last post February 28, 2018
    • I ran the Reset Windows Update Tool >> option 2, Reset the Windows Update Components.

I reboot my Windows 10 Pro 64-bit PC and ran Control Panel >> Windows Update troubleshooter.

The troubleshooter runs and under Download and install pending updates, it states:
Did you know that there are pending updates for this machine? Choose the "Apply this fix" option below to start the update process in the background immediately.

Can I assume from this message that the Reset Windows Update Tool, has not worked as expected? TIA
    • Hi Avant,

If the updates have been installed without problems lately, Windows Update does not present any issue. Otherwise, I recommend repairing the Windows installation.
