    • nice, learned something new. "else if" isn't documented at all for batch/cmd.
the script could be stripped down by a lot. you use methodes for registry addreg, you could use this on most services printouts and so on. e.g. also the re-register of dlls could be done in 2 lines. (set dlls=xx,yv // for /d %%d in (%dlls%) do ...) and so on. or like:
if exist, takeown, attrib, ren. - just use one call function.
      call :fileaction "<file>"
      takeown "%~1"
      attrib xyz "%~1"
      and so on.
    • if else is documented.
type help if in command prompt
    • Nevermind. I misunderstood what you sad. "else if" is not documented in help command.
    • Thanks KNARZ,
I have implemented actions with files and folders in others scripts. But, in this script i keep the structure described by microsoft for being the original idea of this script.

  • Windows Update Service Failed to Stop
    2 Posts | Last post August 29, 2017
    • Thanks for this wonderful tool, Manuel.
I'm running Windows 10 Pro and for several weeks I've had the problem of not being able to get updates because Windows couldn't connect to the Update Server reporting it in the same words as many people have received.
I downloaded your script and it started running, but then it stopped and I received an error, "Failed to stop the Windows Update service." I thought I might make it work if I disabled the service manually and stopped it, but I got the same error. This is driving me crazy. I'd appreciate some advice.
      Thank you & Regards.
    • Hi Galileo2011,

  • Updating agent?
    2 Posts | Last post July 31, 2017
    • Very good script but do you have something to update the agent as well because I see that my clients are outdated with errors (wmi) :( It concerns old Win7 x86 with agent version 7.6.7601.256
    • Thanks Michael, this tool has been developed for home users and the wmi error is present in enterprise licenses.
Please, try with the follow tool:
  • Unable to reset Update restrictions

    • The tool was unable to remove the message *Some settings are hidden or managed by your organization" on my Windows 10 1703 64-bit Pro PC. No errors were reported by the tool either about this issue.
    • This tool does not contemplate this error since it is designed for home licenses.
The error documentation is very short, the only solution I found is in this link:
The solution was tested on Windows 8 and Windows 10.
  • Windows XP PRO - Problem with ResetWUEng

    • Hello,
I am French and I do not speak English very well so the entirety of this text has been translated from French to English by a translation tool.
If you do not understand an expression or phrase called me, I would rephrase the word or phrase differently.
Here are some features of my laptop
      Model: HP Compaq 6710b
System: Windows XP Pro / SP3
      Version: 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Nu 2600
After running trouble-free for years, even after the Windows XP updates, Windows Update no longer works. I have consulted dozens of documents and tried many solutions without result and my last hope was ResetWUEng but this repair tool also does not work on my system.
It seems to be a security issue because I do not understand exactly what you mean with the phrase "... the correct security fix". Can you tell me more ?
I am the only user of this laptop, so I have Administrator rights and so I can launch all the applications I want. Unless … !??
I hope that we can easily find a solution to this problem, if you need additional information I would always be there to answer you.
Thank you very much for your assistance
