PowerShell to Reset Unique Permissions (Inherit Permissions) on a List/Library

This script will reset unique permissions on a list or library as well as all the items in the list/library.  It uses the ResetRoleInheritance() method on the list and list items to inherit permissions from the parent.  The script takes three (3) arguments: Web URL (string) Li

  • No unique permissions, but still limited access message?

    • I ran the script and added a ForEach to iterate through all the lists and I just wanted to see the results rather than make changes.  It reported no unique permissions throughout, but yet I see the limited access message.  Anyone?

    • I keep getting the following error even though I copy and paste the URL:
      Get-SPWeb : Cannot find an SPWeb object with Id or Url : https://blabla.blabla.org/sites/eip/HEIP and site Url https://blabla.blabla.o
      HEIP is the subsite containing the library I want to change, and All_individual_foldersAG is the library name. I am signed onto the server as an admin and running the SP PowerShell as an admin. This is the command I am running: Restore-Inheritance.ps1 "https://blabla.blabla.org/sites/eip/HEIP" "All_individual_foldersAG" true
