  • Deny Logon Locally

    • I'm having an issue with the Deny Logon Locally setion. I have the option set to True in the settings file, and I've confirmed that the local group gets created with the logged on users; however, the Deny Logon Locally setting never gets populated with the Windows10UpgradeDisableLogon group. See the screenshots below. I'm upgrading v1809 to v1909.
  • Computer Model List

    • Firstly, this is great and I appreciate you providing the info for all of us. Got it working in no time at all!
I had a question about the model check. We have about 40 different Lenovo Models supported in our task sequence. Lenovo doesn’t set the actual ‘model’ in WMI but rather ‘Version’. (for example, when querying WMI for model of Lenovo L570, I would use the following:
SELECT * FROM Win32_ComputerSystemProduct WHERE Name LIKE ’20J8%’ OR Name LIKE ’20J9%’
The string listed under model could be multiple different values and I don’t know how I could account for all the different instances. Is there a wildcard I can use in the model list? Or a switch in the settings.config to bypass the model check? (I apologize if you have already answered this question, I couldn’t find anything in documentation or comments)
    • Disregard. Found the line in Settings.config file. Thanks again!
  • Multi Language bug
    2 Posts | Last post April 18, 2019
    • After setting multi language text (e.g. French) in the MyXaml.xaml file, after the checks are complete, the "Checking Power.." step reverts back to English "success" instead of French "Succès". Also, the Next button is also forced back to English on the same page.
Can a fix be added to address bug?
      Thank you!
    • Hi, same here,
I'd like to change the language to German, but have the same issue. The power step and Next button reverts to English. Did you solve this issues, how did you do that?
      Thanks for your answer.
  • Will it run on Windows 7

    • I know this was built for running Windows 10 Upgrades on Windows 10 but is it possible to make it run on Windows 7?
  • failed distribution of "Windows 10 Upgrade GUI Source Files"

    • Hi!
found an issue while trying to distribute the source files to the DP.
Error log says "can't access source files..." (SCCM 1810)
Solution: Remove the last backslash ("\") of the applications sourcepath. After redistributing it will be fine now.
maybe you could fix it while importing the application.
      Kind regards and cheers

  • GUI now showing
    2 Posts | Last post January 29, 2019
    • Hi,
I'm having issues getting the GUI to show. The log file says:
      We Have Liftoff!
All Variables being called from Settings.Config
but nothing shows. I have run the EXE manually and it does the same. IF there something I'm missing?
    • Ignore this.
For anyone else having the above issue, the files that were downloaded were blocked by Windows. Once they were unblocked it worked as expected.
      Great tool, thanks.
  • TS not found

    • Hi rich
I get a error message the TS not found. I put the exact TS name in the settings.config
      Retreiving TSName from File
Execute-TaskSequence Windows 10 Upgrade Script Started
Task Sequence Windows 10 Upgrade Specified
Calling Task Sequence for the First Time
      Module Imported
Connected to Software Center Resource Successfully
      Searching For Task Sequence
No Task Sequence with name 'Windows 10 Upgrade' Found
      Waiting for TS to Start..
If all works as expected, this will be the last line in the log.
  • What about the TS?

    • Hi Rich,
How can I understand with my TS? Should I deploy my TS or not? How can know the both deployed Application that TS should run? The OS entry should be in CCMCASHE on the Client.
  • Some questions

    • Love the GUI so far, works and has a lot of potential.
In testing we noticed that sometimes pending updates are delaying the installation of the new OS. Would it be possible for the GUI to deal with pending updates (first install them, then install the new TS or just ignore the updates and install the new OS directly since that trumps the updates anyway). Maybe some check on pending reboots also?
I also noticed that for some reason the deny logon does not work. After the GUI had restarted the system I can still login although the account I log in with is a member of the local group Windows10UpgradeDisableLogon and I can see in gpedit.msc that this group has a deny logon locally. I don't know at what point this policy becomes active but so far no luck.
      Keep up the good work.
  • Login Background and Legal Text

    • Should probably note that any Legal Text pushed via GroupPolicy will supersede the one created for the upgrade.
Also - it looks like the Login background does not change for users that have set custom login backgrounds?
